To all brand owners selling beverage products in New Brunswick,
Encorp Atlantic/Atlantique (“Encorp”) is pleased to provide this information package regarding the upcoming April 1, 2024, transition of the New Brunswick Beverage Containers Program to an extended producer responsibility (EPR) model.
The new EPR Beverage Containers Program will fall under the jurisdiction of the New Brunswick Designated Materials Regulation (Clean Environment Act). Encorp is the federally incorporated, not-for-profit producer responsibility organization (PRO) appointed to fulfill the Regulation’s requirements for the beverage industry.
Please review the Brand Owner Information Package. It will help you understand your obligations and responsibilities as a brand owner in this new EPR Beverage Containers Program.
You can appoint Encorp as your agent if you meet the definition of “Who Should Register With Encorp” (provided on page 4 of the Brand Owner Information Package). Follow the Steps to Compliance featured on page 15 and send us the required documents at [email protected] before January 31, 2024. You can access fillable PDF versions of all the required documents to complete and sign – including the Brand Owner Agreement – via our new webpage for brand owners: encorpatl.ca/epr.
We also invite you to join us for an information webinar in December 2023. Click on the links below to RSVP for a session – we’ll be there to answer any questions you have. In the meantime, if you require immediate assistance filling out and submitting the required documents, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 1-877-389-7320.
