The second year of Encorp’s Recycling Heroes in School program is off to a fantastic start, with nearly 90 schools across New Brunswick actively participating and recycling their beverage containers at redemption centres (RCs). Between September and December 2024, 38 new schools joined the program, and during this period, all participating schools collectively recycled 475,000 beverage containers.
To further support schools’ fundraising efforts, we are excited to launch a new initiative: the Support Our Recycling Heroes campaign. This initiative, targeting parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other community members, will encourage donations of used beverage containers (UBCs) to school accounts at RCs and give a boost to bottle drive efforts for the schools participating in our Recycling Heroes in School program. The new campaign launched on February 18, 2025.
If your RC works with schools that aren’t yet part of our Recycling Heroes in School program, please encourage them to sign up for free on our website. By joining, they’ll access recycling bins, supplies, educational resources, and support from Encorp to simplify daily UBC collection and fundraising through recycling initiatives. They will also be able to compete against other schools to become top-performing schools and earn rewards at the end of the school year.
