Exciting Updates for the Recycling Heroes in School

Now in its second year, Encorp Atlantic’s Recycling Heroes in School program has nearly 90 schools across New Brunswick actively participating and recycling beverage containers through redemption centres (RCs).

Between September and December 2024, 39 new schools joined the program. Together, our participating schools have already recycled an impressive 475,000 beverage containers!

Launched in 2023, our Recycling Heroes in School program encourages students to recycle beverage containers both at school and through community bottle drives, fostering environmental responsibility among future generations. Encorp supports schools by providing recycling supplies, educational materials, funding, and connections to local RCs.

To further enhance school fundraising, we are launching a new initiative: the Support Our Recycling Heroes campaign. This initiative invites the public to donate empty beverage containers – and the associated deposit refunds – to local schools in our Recycling Heroes in School program, helping them raise funds while promoting recycling. The campaign aims to increase visits at redemption centres, encourage schools to organize community-wide bottle drives and increase recycling while helping schools raise funds for their programs and activities.

The campaign launched on February 18, 2025, featuring a strong social media presence and on-site education at participating RCs.
