We have moved one the Re-Centre pilot project depots to be on the premises of a local redemption centre – Valley Redemption Centre (323 Collishaw Street, Moncton) – for Phase 2 of the Re-Centre pilot project (Moncton), which is now underway.
The ultimate goal of the Re-Centre pilot project – and all the recycling pilot projects that Encorp Atlantic is leading – is to test new technology and methods to recycle and redeem used beverage containers and to transfer this knowledge to redemption centres in order to help improve the recycling experience for both customers and redemption centre owners/operators. Our collaboration with Valley Redemption Centre – a local redemption centre in the test region for the Re-Centre pilot project – during Phase 2 will allow us to see how the Re-Centre model performs in a real-time redemption centre environment, collect missing data and fine-tune some of its components. Phase 2 of the Re-Centre pilot project will run for approximately 18 months.
