On May 26th, the students of Chipman Forest Avenue School teamed up with the Municipality of Grand Lake to clean up their community. Together, they were able to clean up loads of garbage and recyclables from the village of Chipman, making their public outdoor space a brighter and cleaner space for residents.
Cleanup with the mayor
With some of the $500 Community Cleanup Grant that they won, the school was able to pay to have their students safely bussed from the school to the village of Chipman for their cleanup event. While working hard for their community, they were also visited by Mayor Nicklin, who chose to give them a helping hand! Once they had finished picking up all the litter they could find, these Recycling Heroes were treated to a free BBQ lunch.
Thank You Chipman Forest Avenue School Recycling Heroes
The village of Chipman is looking and feeling much greater now that these amazing students have cleaned up the trash, put the recyclables where they belonged, and recycled any beverage containers they found at a redemption centre. Thanks so much to all the students at Chipman Forest Avenue School for putting in the effort to care for their environment.
