Dear Redemption Centre Operators,
Please be advised of the following updates regarding refillable glass beer bottles.
Moosehead Refillable Bottles
As of early 2026, Moosehead has discontinued selling its beers in refillable glass bottles. Effective February 6, 2026, all returned green Moosehead proprietary bottles must be sorted as green one‑way glass (Sort/SKU 12).
However, brown Moosehead ISBs should continue to be sorted with refillable ISBs, as these bottles will remain in use by other brewers.
Because Moosehead is no longer selling refillable beer bottles, it will no longer work with O. C. Maillet to collect refillable bottles from redemption centres (RCs). Moving forward, Labatt Brewing Company and Molson Coors will manage all refillable bottle pickups for RCs through Armour Transportation Services. Please note that a transition period of approximately two to three weeks will be required before pickups resume at RCs previously serviced by O. C. Maillet. Refer to the list at the end of this notice to determine which brewer to contact to coordinate refillable pickups at your RC.

Corona Sunbrew Rebrand
Please note that Corona Sunbrew is being rebranded as Corona Cero. Continue to sort any remaining Corona Sunbrew bottles with Corona proprietary bottles, and begin sorting Corona Cero bottles with the other Corona refillable bottles. As a reminder, Corona proprietary bottles may be stacked on the same pallet. However, different products must not be mixed within the same cases. Each case must contain only Corona Extra, Corona Sunbrew, OR Corona Cero.
Updated Reference Documents
Two documents in the Operations & Logistics binder have been updated to reflect these changes:
- How to Sort & Bulk Deposit-Bearing Beverage Containers – Refillable Glass (Beer)‑Bearing Beverage Containers
- Pickup Schedules
The revised Pickup Schedules now include a list of RCs and their corresponding brewer responsible for coordinating refillable pickups. Virtual copies of both documents are included with this notice and are also available for download on Encorp’s website: encorpatl.ca/rc-operators/operations-logistics/
Encorp will mail printed copies of these documents with the Winter RC Journal in March.
If you have any questions regarding these updates, please do not hesitate to contact us.
