Encorp Appoints Two Senior Executives to Leadership Team

MONCTON, NB – APRIL 11, 2023 – The Board of Directors for Encorp Atlantic / Encorp Atlantique is pleased to advise of the following appointments to its senior leadership team:

  • Pierre Landry, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Landry has been with Encorp Atlantic Inc. since 2008. He has over 35 years of experience in the waste management and recycling industry, both in the private and public sectors. He has witnessed and participated directly in significant changes and progress in how waste is managed in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. Active as a volunteer in the New Brunswick environmental movement related to watershed management and watercourse restoration initiatives, he firmly believes that most environmental issues and challenges facing society today are not linked to technical problems but rather to social habits and hard-to-change behaviours.
  • Collette Boucher, Vice President – Finance
Ms. Boucher has also been with Encorp Atlantic Inc. since 2008. Before that, she worked for over 12 years as Controller and Vice President of Finance for Economy Glass and Northfield Glass Group Inc., which focused on commercial installation of architectural glass and insulated glass manufacturing in the Atlantic Provinces. She also acquired broad insight into many types of organizations by starting her accounting career at two accounting firms: Leblanc Nadeau Bujold and Grant Thornton (formerly Doan Raymond). She has volunteered with CNIB, the Laubach Literacy Society, Moncton Headstart and Moncton SPCA (now PAWs).

The Government of New Brunswick recently introduced amendments to the Designated Materials Regulation under the Clean Environment Act that will bring about a new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system for managing used beverage containers. These amendments have made it possible to transform the former Encorp Atlantic Inc. from a for-profit entity into the not-for-profit Encorp Atlantic / Atlantique (better known simply as “Encorp”) producer responsibility organization with expanded stewardship responsibilities in the province.

April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, is considered a transition year. The New Brunswick Beverage Containers program will operate under the current Beverage Containers Act and General Regulation. On April 1, 2024, the program will operate under the amended Designated Materials Regulation of the Clean Environment Act and will be fully converted to the EPR model.

Encorp and its senior team appreciate the leadership from the provincial government in this transformative process and look forward to continuing their work with stakeholders to improve beverage container recycling across New Brunswick.

Encorp’s Board of Directors congratulate Mr. Landry and Ms. Boucher on their appointments.
