Dear beverage producers and retailers,
We wish to remind you of the upcoming April 1st, 2026, implementation of the new Beverage Container Stewardship Program in Prince Edward Island (PEI). If you are selling beverages in PEI and have not already registered with Encorp as your producer responsibility organization (PRO) for this new program, please immediately visit our PEI Program webpage for more information and to immediately start the registration process if this applies to you.
Deposits and Container Recycling Fees
Producers/retailers selling beverages in PEI must be aware of the deposits/refunds and new container recycling fees (CRFs) for beverage containers, and apply them to applicable products as of April 1, 2026. Information on deposits and CRFs for the PEI Program is available here. Please also note that a complete information kit for producers, as well as a promotional toolkit for retailers, are available on our PEI Program webpage — be sure to explore all essential links in the right-hand menu to access full Program details.

Reporting & Remitting Deposits & CRFs to Encorp
Producers registered with Encorp will be required to report the sales and remit the deposits and CRFs for all deposit-bearing beverage products sold in PEI to Encorp. These reports and remittances should be made through our Beverage Industry Portal, which has been recently updated to include reporting tabs for both New Brunswick (NB) and PEI. Once logged in, select the province for which you wish to report. (If you are a new producer registered with Encorp, you will receive a username and password for this portal. If you are already registered with Encorp, your current username and password will work to access the portal. If a producer wants to have different people remitting to Encorp for each province, we can also create a login for an additional user. Instructions on using the portal are available via the portal webpage liked above. If you need help doing your first report and remittance, please do not hesitate to contact us.)
The first report for the PEI Program, submitted through our Beverage Industry Portal, will be due in May, and it will cover the month of April. Reports must be submitted within 10 business days after the end of each calendar month for the month just completed.Once logged in to our portal, you will need to enter quantities of deposit-bearing beverage products by container category. The form will automatically apply and calculate the appropriate deposits and CRF amounts and display the total payment you need to remit to Encorp. Once you submit your report, you’ll receive a confirmation email along with an attached invoice.
If you are registered with Encorp in both NB and PEI, you will be required to submit separate reports for each province for all reporting periods covering April 1, 2026, onwards. (Note that the deposit amounts and CRF rates for PEI in effect as of April 1st, 2026, are identical to those in NB.)
- To support accuracy and ease of use, several visual indicators have been added throughout the reporting process. On each report page, the selected province will be noted along with a provincial flag.
- The confirmation page at the end will also display the province associated with the submitted report. This provides a final opportunity to verify that all information has been filed under the correct province.
- If you discover that you have accidentally submitted a report for the wrong province, please contact us by email at [email protected]or by calling us at 1-877-389-7320. Including the report reference number provided on the confirmation page will help us resolve the issue more quickly and efficiently.
