As we head into tax season, we wish to remind all brand owners of their obligation to submit an annual Independent Verification to Encorp Atlantic.
Under Section 5.1 of the Brand Owner Agreement, brand owners must provide Encorp with an annual independent verification of their sales, collection, and remittance of all applicable fees (deposits and container recycling fees) for beverage containers covered by the New Brunswick Designated Materials Regulation (Clean Environment Act).
This verification must be submitted within 90 days of your fiscal or calendar year-end. For brand owners with a December 31 year-end, your Independent Verification is due by the end of March 2025. Timely submission ensures transparency and contributes to the ongoing success of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Beverage Containers Program.
