Dear Redemption Centre Operators,
You will soon receive a physical copy of your temporary Sort List from Label Sanitation, which will be in effect from January 19, 2026, to March 31, 2026. This temporary Sort List is the same as Encorp’s NB Sort List, with one addition: Sort/SKU #29 for PET alcohol containers larger than 500 ml, which corresponds to the current PEI Sort #16.
Beginning January 19, you will be required to use Encorp’s Sort/SKU numbers. Please note that as of January 19, Label Sanitation will no longer be able to scan tags using the current PEI sort numbers. Any tags with PEI sort numbers would need to be relabeled with the Sort/SKU numbers corresponding to the attached Sort List to ensure proper processing.
Additionally, bags containing more than one Sort/SKU must have the Sorts listed on the tag on separate lines, as shown in the example photo below.
After Label Sanitation completes its final pickup during the week prior to January 19 (January 12 – 18), redemption centres may begin sorting bags using Encorp’s Sort/SKU numbers.
