Dear beverage producers,
Thank you to everyone who joined our November 20th webinar on the upcoming launch of the new Beverage Container Stewardship Program in Prince Edward Island, launching April 1, 2026.
Encorp Atlantic (“Encorp”) will serve as the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) for this new extended producer responsibility (EPR) program. As we continue to prepare for the transition to EPR, we’re pleased to share the following updates:
- Stewardship Plan Approved: The PEI Government has approved our Stewardship Plan for the new EPR program. It is now available on our website, and we invite all our stakeholders to review it and familiarize themselves with its details.
- Webinar Recording and Presentation: The recording of last week’s informational webinar, along with the presentation slide deck, are now posted online for your reference.
- Updated FAQ: We’re in the process of adding answers to questions received during and after the webinar to our website’s FAQ section so please keep an eye out for additional information in the coming weeks.

Upcoming Deadlines:
- January 2026: Registration opens for producers to appoint Encorp as their PRO. A detailed producer information package will be available, including guidelines and consumer education materials for retailers.
- February 26, 2026 (1:00 p.m. AST): Second informational webinar following the opening of registrations.
- April 1, 2026: Official program launch. Producers will begin reporting and remitting deposits and container recycling fees (CRFs) to Encorp for all applicable beverage containers sold in PEI. The program will transition to a full deposit-refund model with new deposit amounts and container recycling fees (CRFs) as outlined in our Stewardship Plan.
