In response to new beverage products entering the market and inquiries Encorp receives from redemption centres (RCs) and consumers regarding whether certain products are accepted for a deposit refund, we have decided to reprise our Is It Deposit-Bearing educational series this fall. See below for the link to download this first issue.
If you or your staff have any beverage product inquiries, please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected] for clarification so that we may advise you as well as feature them in upcoming educational notices for the benefit of all RCs. We will continue to issue these notices monthly, highlighting various products that tend to cause confusion. We encourage you to print them, share them with your staff, and include them in your Operations & Logistics binder for future reference.
All RC operators should also be aware that we have resources that can help you train new staff or give current staff a refresher course regarding products included vs. excluded in the Program on our Deposit-Bearing Beverage Containers webpage under the RC Operators menu. For example, operators should review with all staff our poster that explain the Program rules, as well as our Searchable Reference Tool of Commonly Confused Products (recently revamped) – to which we keep adding new products as we become aware of them/receive inquiries.
