Position to fill: Business Analyst

Do you want to leverage your analytical expertise to affect real-world change in New Brunswick? Want to work with a dynamic team that is leading the modernization of recycling for everyday New Brunswickers? Encorp Atlantic is a producer responsibility organization that manages over 350 million post-consumer beverage containers annually in New Brunswick. We are searching for a Business Analyst to join our team.

The Business Analyst works as part of a small IT team and plays a key role in aligning business and IT strategies. They play a crucial role in understanding and evaluating business processes, gathering requirements for IT projects, and maximizing the value of information systems. The right candidate is expected to have keen analytical and communication skills, strong initiative and real-world experience as a Business Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Document current and future states of business processes and systems, including workflows and data flows.
  • Develop use cases, user stories, and functional specifications to capture business requirements.
  • Plan, document, and assist in the integration of various business systems.
  • Serve as or assist the Product Owner within Agile project teams, providing detailed specifications for development.
  • Leverage data analysis tools such as Microsoft Power BI for dashboarding and reporting.
  • Lead technology-based initiatives to improve business processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, IT administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure systems meet business needs.
  • Create and execute test plans to ensure systems are functioning as intended.
  • Create user manuals and training materials to support system implementation and user adoption.
  • Help configure and maintain the organization’s collaboration environment (SharePoint).
  • Support business end users with application functionality and training on new functionality or systems.
  • Participate in the research, analysis and selection of new systems relating to business processes.

Qualifications

The Business Analyst position requires three to five years of experience as a Business Analyst. The incumbent should possess a relevant diploma or degree from a recognized university or college.

Experience should include:

  • Eliciting and documenting use cases, user stories and detailed requirements.
  • Business process analysis, documentation and change management.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in software development, systems integration, or project management is considered an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of ERPs, CRMs, and Point-of-Sales would be an asset.

Competencies required include:

  • Good organization and project coordination skills with the ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to plan, analyze, solve problems, and assess risks.
  • Demonstrate initiative, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to write technical documentation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work without sustained supervision, independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technology advice and knowledge sharing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual considered an asset).
